Three men work as drivers for a wealthy retired soldier. Milka is a school-leaver on the fastest lane, in pursuit of good fortune and life, but is forced to come to terms with her feminity and realities that are hitherto hidden from her.

The fortunes and destinies of these individuals weave with those of their families, both theirs and others,’ and immediate and distant communities, to create a complex mesh of being and belonging. Everyone needs the other, even the rich and poor.

Moral decisions are not always easy, and sometimes it is not wise to judge if only because we cannot be sure of our own reactions in similar situations, and also because it is likely that in the past we have ourselves tripped. Eventually, life is about making and correcting mistakes, and going on.
